Embracing life's rich 'third phase' with renewed zest and physical empowerment, Maria has had miraculous results in her health and energy levels with yoga, meditation and clean eating that she now wants to share with her 'older' students.
There is such a negative focus on 'ageing' and the physical changes that age brings. But what about the magnificent opportunities that arise as we evolve into being the elders of our tribe?
Now in her 50’s, Maria has moved through a period of health challenges using her yoga practice to re-orient through the difficulties. As a result, Maria discovered a gentle series of lesser-known yogic practices that are safe for those suffering from ailments that preclude vigorous physical exercise.
Maria's two decades of teaching experience allow her to assess a student's capacity and calibrate traditional yogic positions to suit the older body and its evolving needs.
In her classes, the Yoga practice gently but powerfully supports joint health and flexibility - which has a positive flow-on effect on physical balance and agility. Integrating the mind with the body also has a deeply relaxing 'centring' effect that profoundly enhances mood, reduces stress and anxiety, sharpens the mind and ensures a deeper night's sleep.
Meditation and mindfulness in class also helps older students develop their spiritual selves and cultivate a peaceful, positive outlook. Maria's holistic approach is designed to not only increase the range of movement of the body but expand the spirit, encouraging each student to connect at a deeper level to your true nature, and to honour and accept yourself as a whole individual, body mind and spirit.
Maria's self-exploration work encourages older students to stop living laterally, on the surface, and start to live deeply and vertically, embracing true emotional intimacy with yourself and others as you become authentic and whole. Maria's students find that a growing awareness of not pleasing others at the expense of themselves helps them tune into their voice and create a life of freedom with the time that lies ahead.
If not now, when?
Please feel free to book a consultation with Maria to discuss your health and/or spiritual challenges and desires. She is committed to helping the 50+ community bring buoyancy back into their life and is happy to discuss how she may help you, either in group classes or individually.
